Yet............. School's going fine. Went to a Nightwish concert on Oct 23! :D Other than that......... nothing too exciting happened. Oh, I worked for like 6 weeks in the summer. Only 3 hours a day, and got myself a Nikon D40. Muhahaha, now I am taking pictures like mad. Well, not really, but the camera really comes in handy.
Now, I am off, doing random things.

I hate spring.
Last year, my mom declined my Mayfield admission, despite the fact that I was like one of the top visual art artists whom auditioned, and forced me into the IB/MYP program.
This year, I found out that they are canceling our visual art class next year, because not enough people signed up for it. I will not stand for this.
So, here I am, asking friends, finding arguments on why we should continue art, and preparing for a long/short battle.
I will win this.
Or .... I can't say die.... ruin my school's IB program doing it.

~eversor

Damned, fucking, jackass, media!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have anyone noticed that the skulls are being over used by media and corporations these days? walk in any clothing, jewelery store aiming to target adolescents, and you'll find yourself facing about 100000000000000000000 billion friggin "cute little" skulls in crusted into merchandises!!!!!!!! Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the new "in" style or something. Walk into Clairs, or w.e, and you'll find skull earrings, skull necklaces, skull bracelets, skull head bands, skull arm bands, skull shoelaces, skull wallets, the list goes on and on. Walk into any clothing store, i.e. Stitches, you'll find that 60% of their shirts have some skull related designs on them. She-sh, and it's so "cool" to own anything with skulls and "punk/emo" on it. >.> I blame the media. They're bringing up a generation of girls, and some guys, with no originality, no sense of fashion independence, and mindless, follower zombies!!!!!!!! And the ironic part is that most of them will probably freak out and have a panic attack if they see a bloody hand or a real skull!!!!!!!

Uh, now that's all out, I guess I'll go back to doing homework

    <lj:music>Pink - Aerosmith</lj:music>

Well, I've been really slacking off. No matter, a new month, a new start, right?.... *snort* yeah right my ass.
Tomorrow's gonna be the first day of second semester. Can't really believe that the first have passed by already. Next thing I'll know, it'll probably be summertime.
Haven't started personal project yet, though I really should start... Sometime.
So I've practically gotten the whole week off, cause of exams and all that. Started some drawings, haven't finished any of them. And I should probably start on the promotion pics for Parkway's school play. That one, I've been procastinating since... October or something.
Yeah... really not looking forwards to next sem, I mean, c'mon, gym first thing in the morning! I'd probably fall asleep running or something...
Nothing interesting going on, gonna go back to Parkway tomorrow and next Fri to scorekeep. Have to start refreshing my memories now... Science Fair for the gr 8's next thurs. I pity, no, empathize with them. Bloody science fair, me and my partner last year would have totally flunk it if it wasn't for my frigging science teacher pulling a few strings. And the only reason she did that was cause she blackmailed me in gr 7, and in return she gave me all As in gr 8. *sigh* Oh well, what's done is done, at least I won't ever have to have her as a teacher again.
Birthday coming soon, nothing's being planned for it. Nothing special, damn, I'll be turning 15.... damn, I really don't want to. I'll bet you that my birthday's gonna be on the week before march break again. It's never gonna fall on that break is it...
Oh well. Gonna get ready for school tomorrow. Perhaps finish one of my drawings, specially the promotion pics.
~ Eversor

    <lj:music>Gothic Santuary - Nightwish</lj:music>

Got the music council's secret Santa present! Turns out Crossdresser got my name, yeah, so I got this nightmare before Christmas dog tag thing. *cough, never watched that movie before, though I should, a lot of people compliments that movie, cough*. The person I drew was Sandya, no clue what to get her, so I just bought a pair of earings and a box of chocolate.

Also, I have psychic powers!!! :). Yesterday Susan said that she needed a scarf, because it was so much more efficient and such. And I, bought her a bright pink scarf two weeks ago as a Christmas present. Hehe.

Got the groups for our big geo assignment today. Our group's comparing Canada to Ireland! So, that gives us an excuse to go into some Irish pubs. Alcohol!!! Nah, they'll kick us out if we try to order anything.

Oh well, can't escape anymore, really need to start doing homework.
Yes! Just one more week!!! Our science teacher, god bless her, managed to pros-pone our science practical exam till after the break. The bad part about that is we'll have to worry about the practical during the winter break.

Turns out, we have a big geo project due. Which is like supposed to be 30% of our marks or something.

Finished art project! Just need to make the paint pallet, and the three sentenced critique.

Started a new comic, again, like the last one, this comic is in three parts. I'm hoping to finish part I over the winter breaks. But, it might be impossible considering the circumstances.

Oh yeah, math test on Tuesday... But, after that is the music council social, should be fun. And, secret Santa! Doing two of them this year, and bought the presents like weeks ago. And, found these expensive chocolates in the kitchen. So those can be used for last minute presents.

And, have to write something in my book during the break. I need to finish at least half to it. After all, volume I only took 1 year or so. Thus, I need to finish volume II in 2 years, at the latest.
~Eversor

P.S 80 days till international women's day! *hint, that's when my birthday is*

An Argument On Gay Marriage

    <lj:music>Beauty And The Beast - Nightwish</lj:music>

Found this on the net while searching for the "Barren Straight" that aboriginals used to cross to Canada. :).

Way to go who ever wrote this!!!!!!!!

Bolded Blue = Argument
Normal = Rebuttal
Bolded Red = My Rebuttal

Gays Can't Have Children:
Neither can barren straight couples, couples using birth control or elderly couples. Do we deny them the rights of marriage as soon as they stop producing children? Further, gay couples can have children, either by artificial insemination, a surrogate partner, or eventually via genetic manipulation.
Same thought as above. Besides, there's also the opportunity of adopting a child who's abandoned by his/her heterosexual "normal" parents.

Jeannine Lebel, president of Real Women, argued that "Parliament can give special support and recognition to the heterosexual relationship in carrying out its critical task of raising children, which is of benefit to all society.":
If the rights of marriage are based on child production, then you must be consistent and withdraw those rights from heterosexual couples who cannot or will not produce children. You cannot hand out special rights based on membership in some privileged class, irrespective of what one actually does. If special rights are to be based on child rearing, then, to be consistent, you must give them to any couples who are willing to raise children, including same sex couples. Clearly bigots like Jeannine Lebel are not willing to do that. Ms. Lebel is being disingenuous. This issue is a red herring. Gays also do things that are "of benefit to all of society", so why should they be excluded from enjoying equal civil rights? Given the current problems with global overpopulation and the strain it puts on the environment, I find it odd to consider bringing even more children into the world a "benefit". Should that questionably-valuable, potential of child-creation grant all heterosexuals special privilege before the law? Of course not! (As I pointed out earlier, gays can create children almost as easily as straights.) A heterosexual woman who abuses her infant in the womb with drugs and alcohol, and who later fails to provide food or shelter, is granted greater privilege before the law than a lesbian couple who wishes to adopt and properly care for that same child. Jeannine Lebel with her "special rights" for heterosexuals is spouting the same sort of elitist claptrap that privileged classes have always used to morally justify using the law to exclude others from enjoying those same privileges.
Well, the "straight" parents aren't doing a good job either. I mean, well, look at the number of homeless and orphaned kids. Plus, I've read it somewhere before that most gay parents actually do a better job.

Gays are free to marry someone of the opposite sex. They are demanding a special right, to marry someone of the same sex:
This is playing with language. Logicians warn of the logical fallacies introduced by self-referential terms such as "opposite" Restate it plainly enumerating all four cases.

Men are not allowed to marry men.

Men are allowed to marry women.

Women are allowed to marry men.

Women are not allowed to marry women.

Supposedly we do not discriminate on gender. Whatever men are allowed to do, so are women. If men are allowed to marry women, then so should women, and vice versa, because women are allowed to marry men, then so should men. The real right is to chose your own marriage partner, regardless of sexual plumbing. In the days of legal racial discrimination, bigots defended the miscegenation laws by saying they were fair since everyone had the right to marry someone of their same race. They neglected to notice that a white woman was denied the right to marry a black man, a privilege that every black woman enjoyed.
Like stated above, it's just a play of words. Lets switch it around. Wouldn't the straight couples also have demanded a special right to marry someone of the opposite sex?

Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve:
This is such a non-sequitur it is hard to even begin a rebuttal. The Bible condemns heterosexual sex hundreds of times more frequently than homosexual. The most commonly quoted anti-gay sections of the Bible are Lot (where the condemnation depends on a pun on the word "know" which appears only in the King James version, and Leviticus (who also condemns to death everyone and everything for minor crimes like eating a lobster or not being sufficiently respectful to your father), or St. Paul (who pontificated that it was exceedingly wicked for women to wear hats in church). The Bible warns of the dangers of promiscuity. Why do the conservative forces want encourage promiscuity by banning legally recognised gay unions? Finally, this homophobia is a Christian superstition. What right have Christians to impose their religious superstitions on others? They have no more right than to demand that everyone pretend each week to eat a bloody piece of human flesh to commemorate the death of Jesus.
Again, not everyone's christian now are they? Besides, doesn't it say somewhere in the Bible that we're only allowed sex for reproduction or something? When have the most of us followed that rule?

It's ain't natural. Even a dog knows which sex to mate with. Gays are lower than the animals:
Other animal species such as dolphins, cattle, geese, swans, rats, budgerigars etc. form homosexual unions. It may be a natural population control device. The way the planetary population is ballooning way above the ecology's ability to support it, we should be encouraging homosexual unions or any other unions that don't produce children.
*snickers* Oh god, I love this argument, this must be the favourite one out of everyone that's out there. Since when have we thought about natural? And why are you comparing us to animals? I thought the saying was that we aren't animals, mentally and scientifically.
Anyway, like I said, human kind isn't natural. I mean, do you see dogs building big glass towers? Do you see cats driving trucks and polluting the air? Do you see ants going around selling chocolate? What about the organic vegetables that people seem to love so much?
So when have the dogs/animals suddenly turned smart and begin doing math questions? And who would you know that dogs can't be homosexual?
Come and say it to my face that gays are lower than animals when you've surveyed every animal in the whole and proved that they're all straight.

The Canadian Catholic Church position is: Keep the traditional definition of marriage. It has served society well and it will serve society in the future:
This argument works equally well for defending slavery or witch burning. Of course oppressing gays served the majority just fine in past. However, it did not serve the gay minority.
Again, when had every traditional definition of marriage served society well? There's abuse, drunken husbands beating their wives. Broken marriages. Kids on the streets. Over population. Starving People. And don't get me started on those arranged marriages.

Born again Christian lawyer Doug Christie argues the slippery slope that if you allow gay marriage then you must also allow people to marry their pets and to marry children:
The slippery slope argument can also be used in reverse. If we do anything the fundamentalists like, e.g. allow voluntary school prayer, then we are headed on an unstoppable path back to reinstating slavery and witch burning. The slippery slope is one of the classic logical fallacies. Horses can't give consent to marriage. They cannot fulfill the commitments. It is harmful to children to push them into sexual relationships. There is no popular will to allow people and horses to marry. There is certainly no popular will to legitimise pedophilia through marriage. Why then would we, as a democracy, inevitably embark on a path that almost no one supports?
Sure, why not? If both parties give consent on their own will, why the hell not?

Doug Christie argues that allowing same sex couples destroys the moral sanctity of marriage:
Same sex marriages have almost no effect on anyone but same sex couples. Bigots like Christie are unlikely to be invited to many same-sex weddings. He is a busy body meddling in the lives of others where there is almost no effect on his own life. Adultery and taking your partner for granted are what destroy heterosexual marriages, not same sex marriages between people you have never even met.
*sigh* again, what is the moral sanctity of marriage? And......... two words. Arranged marriages.

What's the point? Gays are 100% promiscuous. They never have sex with the same person twice:
There is some truth to that when you consider according to one study of gay males: 11 percent of gay males are in a committed monogamous relationship. 33 percent of gay males are in a non-committed open relationship. 56 percent of gay males are not in any relationship. This is partly caused by the wandering eye of all males, straight and gay, and partly because society, up to now, has so strongly discouraged male couples, and partly because of the esteem problem gays have. However, the current laws also discriminate against lesbians who are on average much more interested in long term relationships. There are several U.S. studies which claim that more than 60% of the gay/lesbian community are in a relationship.
Like said above. Society doesn't allow them to. And there are also "straight, normal" people who are major sluts and players.

If we make being gay respectable, all our kids will turn gay:
Sexuality is hard-wired into the brain long before puberty. You can't change your gender preference just by an act of will. Gays can't make themselves straight. Straights can't make themselves gay. I read three books provided by Reverend Terry Winter on how Christ can reputedly convert gays into straights. The books made no such claims. They simply talked of how some bi-sexual men were gradually able to stop acting on their gay side desires. They put their wives through hell in the process. They were never able to change their preferences, just white-knuckle avoid acting them out.
You can't change your kid's orientation. And hey, if the kid's gay, your the ones who gave birth to him/her. And it's the straight couples who are having gay kids.

The Bible says its our duty to kill gays. We should at least make their lives as miserable as possible:
How Christian! Jesus overturned much of that Old Testament nastiness with the first stone demonstration. Further, the Canadian constitution protects people based on discrimination based on gender or sexual preference. Canada is made up of people of many faiths. You can't go forcing your brand of religion down other's throats. There is a separation of church and state. Besides if you did everything the Bible told you, you would be obligated to dash out the brains of babies, adulterers, lobster eaters etc. Your daughter would be obligated to marry anyone who raped her. The Bible is a questionable source for equitable law.
Again, like said way above. When have we ever listened to the bible? And not everyone's Christian. Doesn't it say somewhere that God accepts all of his children? *hint* that includes the gays. It's just how you interpret really.

Permitting gay marriage will destroy the institution for straight people, or to use George W. Bush's phrase, "Our nation must defend the sanctity of marriage" People will start demanding to marry their poodles or their maple trees. No one will get married anymore.
Marriage is an institution known in all cultures in all times. It is not about to go away so easily. I can't imagine bride refusing her husband on the grounds she read in the newspaper that someone else who just happened to be male, shared a similar joy. Gay people fall seriously in love just like straights. Just how does encouraging gays to lead promiscuous unmarried lives strengthen family values? In medieval times marriage was possible between members of the same sex. Clearly, it did not stop straight people from marrying then. It would not now. Those highly opposed to gay marriages would likely never be invited to one. Same sex marriage would have no effect on their lives. The bigots just want to interfere and make like miserable for gays on general principle. Religious bigots feel they have a divine right, nay duty, to do this.
No one will get married anymore? What about all you "normal" people? And just read my comment above on the sanctity of marriage.

Marriage is a religious institution, and God doesn't want gays to marry:
In his article in the 1999 Jan 18 National Post, Brad Aisa made the following argument. Gays are not demanding a religious ceremony, but the secular rights of marriage that heterosexuals enjoy. Many straight people who marry are not religious at all. Atheists marry. Conversely, many gay people are religious, and have undergone religious bonding ceremonies, ahead of legal sanction of their relationship. Many churches now sanctify gay partnerships, and even more are considering it. The new law strengthens the right of a minister to choose the couples he or she will marry. Ministers have total freedom to discriminate.
God also doesn't want us to start wars and kill each other. God wants everyone to respect each other. God forbid Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. God doesn't want us to have sex before marriage. God doesn't want a lot of things.

If gays are allowed to marry, they will be able to adopt kids. They will molest them and make them turn queer:
The people most likely to molest children are straight males. Gay males and females are much less likely to molest children. Children raised by gays show the same likelihood of being straight or gay as children raised by hets. Sexual preference is something built-in, not something you copy from your parents. After all, straight daughters live with fathers who prefer women. They don't usually copy them.
So you'd rather have abused kids who'll be emotionally unstable forever? They can adopt kids even if they aren't married, can't they? Like stated above. You can't change someone's orientation, meaning we'll have to blame the straight parents for gay kids.
Oh, another example. (doesn't happen too often, but I've seen it) Fathers teaching kids that men's the superior of women. Making they're sons abuse their future wives. And daughters wanting to be men so they'll be "more powerful".

Life is a cold hard bitch sometimes... It let you take a glimpse of something you desire, opens the door and reveals the path between you and it. And just when you think you have a chance, and can almost get it... Wham! Life slams the door and turns the lock and boards the door up.

Alright, I'm just rambling. But it's only the truth. I found this really nice shirt downtown last Monday with my friend. It had like all these nice Celtic/gothic designs and chains on it. But it was forty bucks, and I didn't have enough money. So my mom and I went downtown yesterday, to get it. And guess what! THE. FUCKING. STORE was closed! Like you can see the shirt right in the store! Apparently the store had weird closing times. The worst part is, I don't know when I would get a chance to go there again. And if I do go there sometime recently, it might be closed again, or worse, sold out.

Tomorrow's the Turner orientation. Well, today technically. Damn I hate that school. Everybody's probably nerds in it anyway. Well, there goes my love life for the next four years.

Guess I'm gonna get some sleep before tomorrow. Hopefully. I've had insomnia since I was five or something. Yeah, there goes the "sleep well" part in my life.

~Artium Magister

Well, since there's a user info section in this journal thingy, I won't bother to introduce too much about myself. Well, maybe I'll do a little list of the things I did/like/dislike/want to do/want later.

I've been writing on the msn space thingy for about a year now. And since the service is really, really, really slow, and msn changes the space format like once every month or so, the whole thing's all crappy and really messed up.

And at first, I wanted to start an account on deadjournal. But then I found out that you had to pay or get this code or what ever shit to get in. And since I'm just a poor highschool student who used up all her money on cds and other weird stuff..... Well, I couldn't start an account there to make things short.

A little intro about me. I'm 14, live in Brampton, Canada. I've played piano since i was 5. And I have a current record of being able to play 8 instruments. Been drawing since like forever. I'm just about to enter highschool, into some IB program *shudders*. My parents pulled me out of the regional arts program to go to the IB program. Thus ruining my life forever.

I've been classified as weird, bitchy, stuborn, insane, and some other things. But hey, I can't help it. It's who I am. Eh, don't really care that much about it anyways. Anyone who is my close friend, would have to suffer my temporary attacks of big and almost unrealistic ideas, insanity, and just plain weirdness. So consider yourselves warned.

I'm really into the arts right now. I'm starting my own comic, which probably isn't ever gonna get finished. I mostly do pencil sketching, portraits, and little pen scribbled designs. I also like to do tattoo designs (and hopefully get them done on me when it's legal) And I'm experimenting with painting.

I'm into songs made by bands like Children of Bodom, Nightwish, My Chemical Romance, The Used, I Am Ghost, HIM, and several other ones.
I can't say that I'm a rock 'n' roll listener. 'Cause I don't really like bands like queen, guns 'n' roses, ac/dc. I mean, some of their songs are okay. But I just don't like them. Metallica is alright, but i find their songs pretty boring. Alice Cooper, Nirvana, Iron Maiden, and The Scorpions are alright. Songs like "Child of the Damned" by Hammerfall and "Swansong for a Raven" and "I'll See You in My Dreams" are also great.
And as you can tell, I'm definitely not a R&B or Hip Hop or Rap or Reggae or Country or anything else listener. The only rap I could stand is umm.... Mocking Bird by Eminem, or whatever it's called. Classical music is alright, since I've been dealing with it for more than half of my life. But that's more of a sleeping music.

Well, that's a little info about me. I'll probably update tomorrow to type more.

~ Artium_Magister
